International Women's Day

Some updates.

Was so busy churning out products for the Cozycot event over the weekend, I couldn't update.
Been at Orchard Central on Saturday and Sunday from 9am selling!

This is my table:

Long awaited Velcro-Velvet Clutches!!!
I produced in a batch of 20 all in different colours.

This one here is in mustard, and has green and blue pipings.
It's one of my favourite.

Whenever I'm out, I'll have people asking me what do I do, or what am I working as currently.
My immediate response will be, "I run my own online business." (Passes namecard)
Them, "Oh, what do you sell?"
Me, "Ermm....."

I figured if i have my own product with me all the time, I can just show it to anyone and I needn't verbally explain. A picture beats a thousand words right?

Furthermore, who's gonna comprehend "... Velcro products... Paste and personalize.. ..."
Or if I would to say "I have laptop sleeves, clutches, shoppers, journal covers..." then the person/ people I'm engaging my conversation with will probably relate Poodlecraft to being "normal/ nothing special" then forget about it as soon as we part.

That's one thing about having niche products. You can expect others to know what you are truly doing with verbal illustrations. If they haven't seen anything like what you're trying to get them to visualize, then they have got nothing to relate to and will probably say "Oh.. I see, that's interesting" after a while just to patronize you.

So I kept this for myself. It's my signature grey-scale patchwork!

There is another clutch with the same patchwork but a different set of piping and corner in theblogshop. Only one, so quickly go get. I will not be making anymore clutch in this patchwork.

These clutches are $69 and comes with any accessory pack of your choice.

Considering it's fully hand-made and lined in Velvet with a Ykk zipper, I would think it's really worth the price. Hand-made items do not usually come cheap because they require a lot of effort and time. I need an average of 3 hours to complete one of these because there are so many parts to sew and combine. It's not easy to sew something nicely so please do not complain about the price or haggle with me. I'm not a marketplace!!

There was this auntie who stopped by my table yesterday because the journals caught her eye. She looked at one, took up and touched all the rest, and inquired about the price (when I already had it written on the journal itself quite huge). When I told her it's $59, she exclaimed "so expensive" at once. I told her I'll give her 10% since I'll be closing my table soon. Then she said, " 10% only?" tossed the journal, rolled her eyeballs, and walked away.

Hello auntie, I do agree that $59 is not that cheap a price for a blank sketchbook even with a nice cover, but please respect my artwork and the artist (me). I do not think that CUSTOMERS ARE ALWAYS RIGHT. Sometimes they're just not, especially when they can't appreciate artistic efforts.

Well...
Anyway, these are the all time best-sellers. Laptop sleeves!

Also brought my own pillow to stand as a sampling piece.

My neighbour's daughter, Kelsea, re-decorated it for me and I asked her to pose for a picture with it. She's so adorable!! Totally occupied myself with her for both days I was there.

You can't believe how adorable she is. Her being a Sushi fan, was craving for sushi early in the morning, so we headed over to Sakae Sushi at 11:30am to take away some. We ordered 5 coloured plates and 2 pink plates. The guy (I would like to think he's the manager) charged us merely for 4 coloured ones and 1 pink one. As if that wasn't good enough, he put in another 2 small tubs of ice cream in our take away bag!! All because Kelsea was too irresistible. HAHA.

There she is:

I also brought along these Velcro gift ideas for people to choose from for free with any purchase.
I also customized names for free!

Did this for Kelsea and she used it on her hair. It surprisingly stayed on because the "hooks" did what they should. They hooked onto the hair strands.

Kelsea was so excited about the name that she got some from me and started drawing her good friends' names for them. Artists at work!

This little girl also stuck on a bow from the fun pack onto her hair tie. It stuck on so well!! You people can try that. Don't think it'll drop off if you didn't peel it off deliberately.

Haha something new!

Towards to end of the day, we treated ourselves to a short 10 minutes shopping spree,
AND I SAW THESE! Bearbrick thumb drives! I know these are spree-ed online and cost much cheaper online because I got a Hello Kitty one some time ago, but I still bought one anyway.
No I didn't buy the bearbrick.

I BOUGHT A POODLE ONE!!! I COULDN'T RESIST AND HAD TO HAVE IT.
I came up with an excuse that I needed (it's more of a want) this to store my Poodlecraft work and documents so that it'll be more professional and organized (cause it's thematic).

Obviously I was convinced. HAHA.

I don't really care if it looks like an ugly poodle.
I'm a poodle lover/fan/freak so anything poodle will go.

Loving it..........!!!

Speaking of which, Toto was so glum the entire weekend because I wasn't home to accompany her. I missed her so much too! Her excited look and behavior upon seeing me when I'm finally back home really made my days! She immediately pounced into my lap to let me play with her when I sat down. Love her maximum.

Another I love has to be my boyfriend.

He had a long Friday (only got to sleep at 2am) but still woke up (on his own accord) at 8am just to get me from my place then sent me to Orchard Central, parked and carried my barang barang for me to the allocated space.

Later when I wanted to go off, he came, parked, and helped me with my things again. We went to his place to watch Big Bang Theory (yes to people who saw the "BAZINGA", that's where it came from haha) and to have dinner!

Even when he was totally tired himself, he gave me a thorough massage (he does that all the time :)) because he knew I was burned out and I would love to have one. He also let me have his pillow when we both needed to take a quick nap while waiting for our friends to come to play Tichu. We didn't play in the end because there was some miscommunication, so he sent me home after we finally woke up at 11pm, parked, and brought in my things for me, played with Toto, then kissed me goodbye.

Today, it was a similar routine.. Picked me, bought dinner for me.. waited for me to do my work... sent me back home..

When I was finally gonna head home, I asked him to drop me off at the Mrt station for a bit so that i could pay my bills, and he asked, "do you have enough money?"

So sweet or what?

Our relationship surely isn't one with major excitements, but it's the little things that he does for me that makes this whole thing so real and so worth being in. He never got mad at me (even when he is in a foul mood). He never shouted at me, never ignored me, never ever did anything to let me have doubts. I know I am always very very much loved no matter what happens.

I can be the little girl in me when I wanted to. I can be opinionated when i have to. I can be crazy when I felt like it.

That's what a relationship should be like.
I know i always have him to fall back on.

So Happy International Women's Day to me, I'm an achiever of true love!
